if you was of latin/hispanic descent in LA in the 80s, Fernando was def taking up time on your 2-ton coat-hanger antennae screen whenever one of his pitching starts aired. i mean he was beastly those first few years and not to add he looked like your tio who would come to the cook out with an 18 pack of Coronas, so you HAD to root for him. i was literally just a baby
